Overview
No trip to Australia would be complete without seeing kangaroos in the wild. Ours are Western Grey Kangaroos which weigh between 28-54 kg. Males are often 2x the weight of the females. According to Wikipedia, they live in groups of up to 15, but around here you can see 60-100 in one large paddock.
There are several places to see wild kangaroos, but one of the best is around Biddle and Sheoak in Yallingup Hills. Just before sunset and early in the morning many kangaroos can often be seen from the road. They’re pretty used to cars and people, so you will likely be able to get a good photo of yourself with kangaroos in the background. Other locations are along Commonage Road near the Mitre 10 and Simmos Ice creamery and on Cape Naturaliste Terrace on the way to Bunker Bay.
