Overview
Castle Rock is on the water’s edge 10 minutes walk east from the Castle Bay car park. This house-size orange granite outcrop can be climbed from the trail side to give a striking view of the bay. It is a popular fishing spot. Opposite the rock is a meandering trail up the hill to the whale lookout (approximately 30 minute return walk). Whales may be seen between September – November. Even when the whales aren’t around this spot offers pretty views along the coast.
