Overview
This lighthouse is at the south end of the Capes Region, where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean. It is the tallest mainland lighthouse in Australia, standing 56 meters above sea level.
An entry fee to the grounds applies, where you can take a self-guided audio tour (well worth doing), to learn about the interesting history of the area including early settlement life and tragic shipwrecks.
This is the southern-most point of the Cape to Cape Track, which extends for 135 km to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse at the north end of the Cape.
